The first formal meeting of the East Court Steering Committee was held on Friday 23rd October at the offices of Mid Sussex District Council in Haywards Heath. Representatives from MSDC, East Grinstead War Memorial Ltd and East Grinstead Town Council met to discuss how East Court and Ashplats Wood will be managed in the future.
The new 10-year Management Plan which will direct the management of the Estate is still in the process of development but important progress was made in discussing the Terms of Reference for the Meeting and what the Plan should contain.
It was encouraging to hear that the new levy on developments within 7km of Ashdown Forest had already secured £170k of incremental income for the East Court Estate.
